noise reduction (acoustic glass)

Acoustic glass comprises of usually two glass panes glued together with an acoustic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) layer in the middle, similar to laminated glass. This sandwiched layer is the important part that absorbs sound energy and reduces vibrations. Acoustic glass thickness makes a difference to the level of insulation. The thicker the glazing the better the quality of noise reduction is achieved.

GEORGIAN BARS

What is a Georgian bar? Georgian bars windows are set inside the sealed unit, which means that they are sandwiched in between layers of glazing. Rather than being added to the glazing, they are sealed within the Georgian bar window unit interior to achieve the traditional Georgian design.

BEVELS, leads & special designs

Beveled glass is a piece of glass or mirror that has a consistent tapered edge cut all around its border. The interior area of the glass remains the same thickness while the tapered edges create a frame-like appearance. The edges can be left unpolished or they can be polished to give the piece a smooth look. Bevels can also create a prism effect on glass. They can capture sunlight and produce a spectrum of different colors that would normally not appear on float glass.
